Welcome to TCC Pathfinder. This tool is designed to help you plan your semester at Tidewater Community College. Whether you're a new transfer student or exploring your options, this tool will assist you in understanding how your previous coursework may apply to your TCC degree. Please follow these instructions to make the most out of your transfer evaluation planning experience.

1. Transcript Preparation

• Obtain a copy of your unofficial academic transcript(s).

2. State Selection

• Identify the state where your previous institution is located. For universities with multiple campuses, select the state of the main campus.

3. Institution Identification

• From the provided dropdown menu, select your previous educational institution.

4. Course Selection

• Mark the checkboxes next to the specific courses you wish to have evaluated for TCC credit.

5. Generate Equivalency Report

• Click "Prepare Selected for Download" to create an Excel spreadsheet of your potential course equivalencies.

6. Save or Print Results

• Save the digital file or print a physical copy of the equivalency results for your upcoming academic advising session.

7. Additional Institution Evaluation (If Needed)

• To assess credits from another institution, select "Return to TCC Pathfinder Page" and repeat the process.

Important Notes
Advisor Consultation: Use this tool alongside advisor guidance. Complete a Request Transfer Evaluation Form for an official comprehensive review.
Grade Requirement: Only courses with a grade of C- or better are eligible.
Accreditation: The transferring school must be regionally accredited. Verify accreditation status through DAPIP, Database of Accredited Postsecondary Institutions and Programs.
Course Eligibility: Some courses may not transfer due to program restrictions or expiration.
Non-Accepted Credits: TCC does not accept transfer credits from Straighterline or Sofia Learning.
