Health Sciences (190) |
Certificate: Health Sciences |
The Health Sciences Certificate is a career pathway designed to move students from basic entry-level employment skills to foundational professional skills. The program also serves as a pathway to an associate of applied science degree in one of the college's health or related programs (Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Funeral Service, Health Information Management, Medical Laboratory Technology, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Physical Therapy Assistant, Radiography, Respiratory Therapy, and Veterinary Technology).
After successful completion of HCT 101, HCT 102, and HLT 105, students are eligible to take the National Nurse Aide Assessment Certification examination for Nurse Aide. Students who wish to take nurse aide training alone may take these courses without pursuing the Health Sciences Certificate. Additionally, HCT 101 and HCT 102 will not apply to any of the college's AAS degrees.
